Korean manufacturer Viliv gives us three new tablets and theyre all for display during the CES that lights up Las Vegas these days. The press release talks about two Android tablets and a Windows tablet, the latest being hailed as the the slimmest and lightest Windows 7 based tablet in the world.
Lets take it slow and start with the Viliv X7, a 7 inch Android tablet that offers a bunch of connectivity options, including 3G, HSPA, EVDO, or WIMAX. It has a Samsung Cortex A8 1 GHz CPU, Power VR SGX 540 graphics, 512 MB of memory, Android 2.2 (and 3.0 at a later date), a 1024600 display, two cameras, up to 32 GB of storage and a 9.5 hour battery. From the hardware it seems that this is a media playback and games driven device.
Next, the Viliv X10. It has a 10.2 inch display, the same Samsung CPU and graphics chip, same RAM, OS, connectivity options and storage options. What sets this tablet apart from the smaller version is the +10 hours battery life, which should make the Vixil X10 the longest running 10 inch Android tablet on the market.
Last, but not least, the Viliv X70, a 7 inch Windows 7 Slate. The device will be powered by a generically named next gen Intel CPU, will have 1 or 2 GB of memory, 32 or 64 SSD of storage, WiFi, Bluetooth, 3G HSPA or WIMAX or EVDO, two cameras, 6.5 hours of battery life and will run on Windows 7 Starter or Premium.
As we said, the manufacturer claims that this will be the lightest Windows 7 tablet out there, but we want to see first that all the bugs usually associated with Microsofts OS are gone, and well enjoy the ultra portability later. Expect the Android tablets to be around in March and April, while theres no release date yet for the X70.
