PCO4NRI Review : Voip Calls to India

One of the recent entries into the voip market is Pco4Nri. May be possible that you have already read and researched about Pco4Nri, those who haven't can read more - this voip provider may prove useful to you.

During our old days, we used to stand in front of those PCO booths with One rupee coins waiting for our turn to make STD Calls. Well, on the same steps this new Voip service PCO4Nri has been launched.

Basically, PCO4Nri Calling Cards is offering some plan in which they are offering calls to India at 1 Rupee per minute. But is that useful for you - effective rate around 2.3 cents per min.


Calling procedure with PCO4Nri - Similar to other calling cards it offers calls via access number both local access and toll free access. So, no extra points to PCO4Nri on this, many others works like charm be it Airtel Call Home, Pingo or Reliance India Call.

No administration charges, no setup charges, no fees - but everyone provides that.

Lets talk about the various plan offered by PCO4Nri :

The Value Plan : Effective Calling rate 2 cents per minute.
Well this is just similar to other calling cards plan - others offers calls at cheaper rates. I wont suggest this plan.
One more thing to notice is the validity of your credit. If you buy some credit, how long will it lasts. I am not sure but these plans have validity of 35 days. LocalPhone is better as it offers no such thing validity.

The Traveler Plan: Call rates depends on call duration.
from 0 to 210 sec rate 0.049 $ for the whole first interval, over 211 sec rate 0.039 $/min.
So basically good plan if you talk for say 3 min or 4 min. If you talk less or more, effective calling rate gets high. Difficult to track, but for those who can its a good plan.

The Unlimited Conversation Plan - This plan is making some buzz.
For 40 cents - you can make a call of unlimited duration (ideally it should have been so, which is not the case).

Their terms and condition say that call will be automatically but after 90 minutes. So max duration which you can talk is 90 minutes. For that effective calling rate - .44 cents per min. (half a cent).

This is a nice plan if your call duration is more than 30 minutes, else your effective calling rate will be more than 1.33 cents per minute.

Another bad thing to be considered with unlimited plans is that sometimes call is interrupted in between and you are able to talk for few minutes at such high price. Next call means next call cost (40 cents).
