The time Ringplus.net came into market, it was a big hit as it offered free calls to India. Ringplus offered free calls to many countries and the call duration was also high. Basically Ringplus made their costs from the advertisement. After few months, this ad-based voip service then lowered the free calling minutes.
At present Ringplus offers 5-6 free minutes to India. A lot of people use Ringplus.net voip service to make calls to India, but some dont prefer it because of the call duration. Now Ringplus has started its paid service (combined with free service). With this paid service you can buy voip calling credit and can use to make calls to any country.
The best part about this new move by Ringplus is that it still offers free minutes, what it means that if you call India then your first 5.54 minutes will be free and you will be charged from next minute. So you call wont get disconnected and you enjoy free part too.
Lets talk about the calling rate which ringplus is offering to India. Ringplus is offering calls to India at 2 cents per minute. So if you talk for 8 minutes, you will be charged about 6 cents. I guess the calling rate is not the cheapest but clubbed with free minutes, the effective rate comes down.
Ringplus is access based number service, you need to call local access number then destination number. Call quality is also ok.
You can purchase call credit in denominations of $10, $20, or $30. I would suggest you to first try with $10.
