Verizon G'zOne Boulder

The Boulder is a largish (3.9 by 2 by 0.9 inches HWD 4.9 ounces) flip phone that comes in black and silver or black and orange. Many of its style cues, like its large, porthole like front screen, come from Casio's G-Shock watch line.

The 1.2 inch, 96 by 96 black and white front screen shows time and date very clearly. If you press a side button with the phone flipped shut, the front screen transforms into a compass, stopwatch, or countdown timer.

That's the G-Shock heritage again. Inside, there are big number buttons, dedicated camera and speakerphone keys, and a bright, 2 inch, 320 by 240 pixel LCD.

In keeping with the G'zOne's ruggedness, all of its ports are covered by thick rubber plugs. If you want to use a 2.5mm wired headset, you have to use a long, awkward adapter that comes with the phone. Our G'zOne also came with a charging station (sold separately) that turns it into a desk clock.
