Promo Calling : Ad supported Business Calls

Are you running a voip business offering cheap voip calls, however you are looking for ways by which you can provider more cheaper calls. You have the idea of offering free/cheap voip calls by showing some advertisements (Ad supported business calls), however you need an interface to help you out.

2600Hz Promo Calling does exactly the same, offering you an interface for Ad supported Business Calls. How this works :
1. Any client Buys a SIP Phone.
2. You offer the network to make calls.
3. Promo Calling provides you the ad interface so that the AD's are displayed on the phone.

PromoCalling is a basically a carrier software-based service that displays advertisements on VoIP desk phones. It’s designed to work with other components of the open-source 2600hz project and helps carriers defray the costs of delivering VoIP calls. PromoCalling is free for carriers and service providers. Service providers can evaluate whether the financial returns the ads provide will cover all service costs and how to pass the savings on to their customers.

Please note: PromoCalling is not a free calling service – it’s a software and an ad delivery system that runs on 2600hz’s new distributed VoIP platform. You must be a service provider to utilize the ad service. Carriers might use it to offer free service

This service looks very unique to me, and is quite interesting. A lot many voip providers can make use of it to offer free/cheap voip calls.

If you are looking for making free international calls, unlimited free calls to india then try FreePhone2Phone.

Free international calls : Calls to India (FreePhone2Phone)

A lot many people have been asking me "How can we make free calls to India ?", " How can we make free international calls ?", "How can we make free phone to phone calls ?", "How can we make free pc to phone calls ?"

Now we have answers to all these questions. A new voip provider has been launched which is offering free unlimited international calls to about 50 countries. FreePhone2Phone offers free phone to phone calls from USA to 50 countries, but with our workaround you can make free calls from anywhere in the world to these 50 countries. Yes, free calls to India from anywhere in the world. The best part is that you don't even have to register in order to use this service. Directly use freephone2phone !

First let me tell a few things about FreePhone2Phone :
1. It is offering free calls in lieu of advertisement - you will heard a short 10 sec ad whenever you make calls.
2. The call recipient receives a normal call from you (no ad on their side).
3. Call duration : 5 minutes to any phone number anytime.
4. Listen for short beeps at 5 minutes, then enjoy 30 seconds extra to wind up your conversation.
5. Freephone2phonehas a strict privacy policy, does not listen to your calls and will not divulge your personal information to third parties.

Now coming to how to make free international calls, free calls to India :

If you are living in USA, and want to make calls from USA.

Basically you need to first make free voip call to USA number (access number) using any voip service and then the international number.

1. Use webcalldirect, icall, mediaringtalk etc to dial any local access number :
# BAKERSFIELD, CA

# BALTIMORE, MD
1 (443) 692-6450
# BATON ROUGE, LA
1 (225) 330-6254
You may try other numbers if the above ones does not work for you. Actually these ones worked for me.

Free Calls to USA and Canada from Gmail Account

You are from USA and you are having a Gmail and a google voice account ? How about making Phone calls directly from your Gmail account without having to login somewhere else. How about if all these phone calls are free.

Yes that is what Google has to offer to you now. Basically now you can access Google voice account from your gmail account, its the integration of Google Voice + Gmail. Using this new Gmail feature you will be able to make free phone calls to USA and Canada.

You need to install a Google voice and video chat plugin to your Gmail account. After you have installed this plugin and restarted the browser, you will see an additional option "Call Option" in the chat window. To make a call, just click the Call phone link in Gmail and enter any number or name from your address book.

You can also receive phone calls in your gmail account now using this same feature. The calls made from Gmail will display your Google Voice phone number as the outbound caller ID. You can also make international phone calls using Gmail, the call rates will be same as that of Google voice service. So basically its just Google voice service which you can now directly access from gmail.

One thing which needs to be mentioned is that this feature is available only to people in USA. I am not sure how are they tracking it, it may be the IP address (will proxies work) or some say its the language set (English US). Keep trying and let us know whatever works for you.

Seems that Google is now all set to give a great competition to Skype, Yahoo voice, Vonage. Lets see how many are able to use this service and find this useful.

Facetime for iPhone4 : Make free video calls

I was looking for some older posts and just realized I have not covered a post on Apple iPhone application Facetime. Well, as you all know iPhone4 was launched sometime back and its most distinguishing feature is Facetime !!

Using this application you can make free video calls from your Apple iPhone4 to other Apple iPhone4 ! These free video calls are made using Wifi. So as long as you are connected to Wifi you can make free video calls using your iPhone4.

But if you have no friends, or simply no friends with an iPhone 4, Apple's got your back if you're looking for a chum to test that curiously intriguing FaceTime feature. Just dial up 1-888-FACETIME. Apple employee will be there in a moment to "show you the basics and a few advanced tips." Help line's only open from 8AM to 8PM CDT.

The best part is that you can make free international video calls directly over wifi using your iPhone4.

Free International Calling from South Africa

Well, FIFA world cup is here in South Africa and we have voip offers flowing there. So many voip providers have started offering some of the good deals to make free voip calls from South Africa.

IndiaLD (which was offering 0.7 cents per min to India) started their service Callstar so that you can make free international calls from South Africa. Yes you can make free calls to India from South Africa. Below is the mail which I received from IndiaLD officials about Callstar.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Callstar offers free international calling from South Africa to over 50 countries including India. The site is http://www.callstar.co.za. This service is two weeks old now and growing very quickly.

Call Star offers geographic access numbers in Johannesburg, Durban, and Cape Town. These numbers can be called from landlines or mobile phones. Users pay a local rate to call our access numbers and then get to make a free internatioonal call to 50 countries. When compared to direct dialing India from Telkom, our service is 59% cheaper.

We have not confirmed this directly, but our customers tell us that our access numbers are included in the Telkom Closer 1 and 2 plans which offer free calling during nights and weekends. Even if you are not on a Telkom Closer plan, the cost to call our access numbers is very reasonable and represents a substantial savings over direct dialing international numbers or using a calling card. Peak/Off Peak rates to call our numbers from a Telkom landline are .0157/.0096 ZAR per second, exclusive of VAT.

Unlike some other South African free calling services, our numbers are not 0875 VOIP rated numbers which bill at standard and expensive VAS rates. The additional benefit of using a geographic number is that the call quality is much better than trying an 0875 rated number. We get some very good connection rates and call times, especially to India. In fact, we are using the same carriers as IndiaLD for our calls so you know that the quality is there.

South Africa has a large Indian community and Call Star is a great way for them to stay in touch without spending a lot of money.

Our free calling destinations include India, the UK, the USA, Canada, and China along with 50 other countries. We are in the process of expanding our free calling destinations and will add Bangladesh shortly.

FreeVoipDeal.com Review : Free 240 minutes of calling at 10 Euros

It has been long that Delmont Sarl (aka Betamax) has launched a new voip service in the market. This time, it has launched a new voip service, with a different kind of a deal offering some free minutes for some fixed price.

FreeVoipDeal.com is offering 240 minutes that is 4 hours of free calls to Egypt, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Iran, Ukraine, Serbia and Montenegro for 10 Euros (in a month).

Let me first clearly explain the deal FreeVoipDeal is offering.

You pay 10 Euros and you get 4 hours of free calls. You can use these 240 minutes to make calls to above said 7 destinations. That does not mean that you cannot make calls to other destinations. You will be charged separately for making calls to other destinations based on their Pay as you go rates.

Now what if you used all your 240 minutes in 10 days, what for rest of 20 days. You will be charged additionally based on their out of minutes rates which are as follows:

Egypt (Landline) $ 0.085
Egypt (Mobile) $ 0.093
Iran (Landline) $ 0.070
Montenegro (Landline) $ 0.116
Pakistan (Mobile) $ 0.062
Serbia (Landline) $ 0.070
Sri Lanka (Landline) $ 0.078
Ukraine (Landline) $ 0.078

Now if you are somehow not able to use these 240 minutes in a month, then these minutes will not be forwarded to next month and will lapse. To make calls you can use PC2phone, Phone2phone, via local access and SIP calling.

FreeVoipDeal SIP details are ::
SIP port : 5060
Registrar : sip.freevoipdeal.com
Proxy server : sip.freevoipdeal.com
Account name : your FreeVoipDeal username
Password : your FreeVoipDeal password
Stunserver (option) : stun.freevoipdeal.com

The effective calling rate comes around to 5.6 cents per minute for those 240 minutes. So the deal is good specially for those who makes less calls in a month, and make calls to Egypt, Sri Lanka etc.

I have extracted the Rates to above destination that offered by Rebtel and found that rate to Pakistan is competitive, but for other destinations freevoipdeal offers lower rates.

Pakistan Mobile - 6.4 cents per minute.
Egypt Landline and mobiles - 17.9 cents per minute.
Serbia Landline - 9.9 cents per minute.
Iran Landlines - 12.2 cents per minute.
Ukraine Landline - 11.9 cent per minute.
Sri Lanka Landline - 13.9 cents per minute.
Sri Lanka Mobile - 11.9 cents per minute.

Advantage with Rebtel (one of the best voip service, highly recommended) is better voice quality, good name in industry, good customer support. All these may lack with FreeVoipDeal. But still FreeVoipDeal looks worth trying.

Mobile Voip Banned in Egypt

Well, this is a sad new for people of Egypt. Egypt has banned international calls made through mobile VoIP internet connections, including Skype.

This ban applies to three big mobile operation in Egypt: Mobinil, Etisalat Egypt and Vodafone Egypt. The ban is on Skype on mobile internet, not on fixed, and this is due to the fact it is against the law since it bypasses the legal gateway.

They wants that the international calls must pass through a network controlled by majority state-owned Telecom Egypt. This is not clarified that whether the ban will be extended to which other mobile voip operators.

In my opinion, this ban will simply ask for more hackers to bypass this ban and soon a method will come to use mobile voip in Egypt, much like many voip providers now offering calls to and from UAE.
